TRENTON -- The defense attorney for 20-year-old Marquis Smith, who is accused of holding a teenage girl hostage in an abandoned building and torturing her for four days, says the girl made up the story to avoid punishment for not coming home and to get back at her boyfriend for breaking up with her.
